Wedding Hair and Makeup Orlando-who has the best price?

Kari | February 14, 2013

For professional services, brides can expect to pay between $70 to $500!
Let’s take a look at some of the variables.

The Obvious

Compare level of experience, quality of work, degree of talent, range of colors and quality of cosmetics, professional hair care products and tools.

The Not-So-Obvious

Do they offer a printed and signed contract guaranteeing services?
Will the stylists arrive on time, look professional, work calmly and on schedule? Does the company have a back-up plan in case of emergency?
Are enough stylists available to efficiently handle the wedding party and any unforeseeable issues?
Will the hairstyle and makeup photograph well and last the entire day and night?
Is a touch-up kit provided?

The Nitty-Gritty

While viewing websites and print material and comparing bottom-line pricing, you may forget to consider whether or not the vendor has an actual place to conduct business.  Why should you care?

An established physical storefront isn’t just old-fashioned; it’s a good sign of financial strength and longevity (translation:  they’re more likely to be around after your check has cleared!). It also increases the likelihood that they are operating under the strict guidelines of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulations Board of Cosmetology.

Don’t be shy!

Ask to see business and professional licenses! Is all of that in place? Great.
Then consider whether or not they have also aced OSHA health & safety inspections.

Impeccable sanitation and hygiene practices are not something you should skimp on.

Is Liability Insurance and Worker’s Compensation Insurance in place?
Do they pay employment and sales taxes?

These are factors that can jeopardize your physical and financial well-being.

They can also shut a “business” down right before your eyes. Your wedding day is not the time to take unnecessary risks.

There are many great resources available to help you narrow down your options – personal recommendations, bridal websites, and local publications. Ask your wedding planner for her feedback. Scour national wedding websites to see which vendors have a strong and active presence with thoughtful reviews (not just lots of reviews) from past brides as well as vendor endorsements.

Pay particular attention to local publications such as Perfect Wedding Guide Orlando and Central Florida Bride magazine to see which companies have an advertising presence.

An extra Seal of Approval goes to those who are repeatedly chosen to contribute editorial content.

Most often, a local publication will select the best of the best to enhance their image while guarding their own reputations.
