Does About Face Design Team travel to my location?
Absolutely! We can travel to your location for all wedding day services or you can come to our beautiful salon, schedule permitting. Our stylist(s) come prepared and ready to make your getting ready prep day easy, enjoyable, and fun!
Are About Face Design Team’s artists all licensed according in the state of FL?
Yes. All of our Hairstylists hold a current FL Cosmetology License and all Makeup Artists hold a current Cosmetology or Facial Specialist License as required by the DBPR, State of FL Dept. of Cosmetology. All are insured and are required to meet and maintain our high standard of excellence as specialists in the industry. All artists must fulfill the requirements for continuing education as mandated by the DBPR, State of FL Dept. of Cosmetology.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes, because About Face Design Team receives many inquiries and bookings throughout the year the dates fill up quickly. Therefore, a 50% deposit is required to secure your event date. We cannot save an event date without a deposit.
Is gratuity included?
Gratuity is not included, but is greatly appreciated by your About Face Design Team artist. Customary gratuity for excellent service is 15%-20%.
How many artists will be provided for my event?
About Face Design Team schedules artists based on the number of services requested and the amount of time we are given. This can range from one artist and up to as many as needed, depending on your needs.
Will the artist at my hair and makeup trial run be the same as my artist on the event date?
Yes! We schedule trial runs with the artist that will be lead on the event date.
Do I need to have a Hair and Makeup trial run?
That is completely up to you! No two brides are alike and some of our brides feel do not feel comfortable with meeting their personal stylist for the first time on their wedding day. If you are unsure of your desired style and want to spend some time creating the perfect look before your wedding day, we highly recommend coming in for a trial run. The best time to book a trial is 2-3 months prior to the big day.
Where does About Face Design Team do a bride’s trial run?
A trial run can be done at our salon located in Winter Park, FL. We have the correct makeup lighting and space set up to give you the best possible outcome for your vision to come to fruition. However, we realize that this is not always possible for our brides, so we make it possible for us to come to you. Whatever works best!
What Products/Brands do you use?
Products are chosen based on performance to ensure the highest quality in high definition film/photography and in person. All products are long wearing and durable and tested from years of experience.

What is Airbrush Makeup?
What is the difference? Unlike traditional makeup, airbrushing sprays a fine mist so the makeup blends evenly on the skin. Our foundations provide the flawless coverage of your preference (from sheer to opaque) and minimizes skin imperfections. The result is a beautiful and natural finish. Airbrush formula is HD quality and very long lasting, up to 12 hours. We have different formulas for different types of skin.
I have sensitivities to makeup, will makeup cause a reaction?
About Face Design Team uses only the best products and not only those that are great for sensitive skin, but also products that hold up in the FL heat! We have found that the products we use typically do not bother the skin. If you have an ingredient or product concern, please let us know when booking an appointment and we can work with you to find a solution.
Does About Face Design Team use disposable applicators?
Yes! We always use disposable sponges, puffs, and mascara wands… and we NEVER double dip!
How does About Face Design Team clean their makeup brushes?
We only use brushes one time per client. Every brush is then cleaned and sanitized with Cinema Secrets Professional Brush Cleaner. This is a top of the line, professional grade brush cleaner that is the first defense against germs and acne causing bacteria. Our makeup brush cleaner was created to instantly clean and condition our most important tools!
What about hair brushes and combs?
We comply with OSHA regulations in regards to cleaning and sanitizing all of our tools.
How will I touch up my face after you leave?
About Face Design Team gives every bride a touch up kit which includes a lipstick or lip gloss! Also, every person who has a makeup service will get a small touch up kit for later in the day. All touch up kits are compliments of our Team!
Are any of the About Face Design Team artists bilingual?
Yes. We do have artists who speak Spanish fluently. If required, please this request when booking your appointment.
What form of payment does About Face Design Team accept?
Cash, Check and all major Credit and Debit cards. No extra fees.
Can About Face Design Team stay for touch-ups for bridal parties?
We sure can! Touch-ups and style changing for $100 per hour for bridal parties.

477.019 Cosmetologists; qualifications; licensure; supervised practice; license renewal; endorsement; continuing education.—
(7)(a) The board shall prescribe by rule continuing education requirements intended to ensure protection of the public through updated training of licensees and registered specialists, not to exceed 16 hours biennially, as a condition for renewal of a license or registration as a specialist under this chapter. Continuing education courses shall include, but not be limited to, the following subjects as they relate to the practice of cosmetology: human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome; Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations; workers’ compensation issues; state and federal laws and rules as they pertain to cosmetologists, cosmetology, salons, specialists, specialty salons, and booth renters; chemical makeup as it pertains to hair, skin, and nails; and environmental issues. Courses given at cosmetology conferences may be counted toward the number of continuing education hours required if approved by the board.
477.0263 Cosmetology services to be performed in licensed salon; exceptions.—
(4) Pursuant to rules adopted by the board, any cosmetology or specialty service may be performed in a location other than a licensed salon when the service is performed in connection with a special event and is performed by a person who is employed by a licensed salon and who holds the proper license or specialty registration. An appointment for the performance of any such service in a location other thana licensed salon must be made through a licensed salon.
477.0265 Prohibited acts.—
(1) It is unlawful for any person to:
(a) Engage in the practice of cosmetology or a specialty without an active license as a cosmetologist or registration as a specialist issued by the department pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
